Why don’t we talk about death?

“Death is as sure for that which is born, as birth is for that which is dead. Therefore grieve not for what is inevitable.” – Bhagwad Gita
Yes, losing a loved one is painful and it takes a lot to heal from such an event. Therefore, it becomes difficult to talk about the topic. People think it might trigger emotions that are otherwise being controlled by the one who’s suffering from this painful journey. They say people who die lay in peace but it’s the ones who are left behind suffer from the pain of losing them.
In the same tone, it is understandable that no one wants to talk about a loved one’s death or even imagine that happening. But why can’t we talk about our own death? What stops us from accepting the fact that there will be a day when we are no more?
A simple thought about it will take us to an imaginary world where we are not there but those we have loved remain. That world is not pretty and certainly not comfortable to traverse for most people. But think more of it and you would realise there are so many things that could have been fixed but end up being some of the biggest sores in there.
That’s the thought that would push you to think about whether your loved ones have financial stability even after you are gone. Will they be able to access all the wealth that you have so meticulously gathered from years of hard work? Forget accessing, do they even know about where is it all parked? Will they have the mental, emotional, technical and physical resources required to track and retrieve all of it?
Losing a loved one is anyway something that nobody wants to go through in their lifetime. But if and when the inevitable strikes, would you not want to make it easy to navigate through the financial work for the ones you leave behind? Even as things have digitised, inheritance of wealth and assets still seems to be a major problem area in today’s world. And that’s what we are trying to solve at Kustodian.life.
When grief befalls upon a family, the last thing they should have to do is go through a whole new hassle of accessing the wealth left behind. So, we at Kustodian.life are building a product to make it easier for those in such times of need, by helping them organise all their finances in one place and nudging people to build better financial hygiene by finding discrepancies in their assets like name mismatch etc and helping them to fix it.
And while we are building the product, if you are currently facing any challenges with any of your financial assets, reach out to us, we would love to help!
If not, Congratulations!!
Do help us spread the word. Have a great day. 🙂
